Indore: City wakes up to 3 suicides on a rain-swept Tuesday morning

Three suicides—two of them male students and a woman—rocked the city on Tuesday.

NEET aspirant ends life

A youth who was preparing for NEET committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling at his rented accommodation in the Palasia area on Tuesday. The police said the exam is on July 17 and he was afraid that he would not pass the examination. A suicide note was recovered from the spot and the police are investigating the case to ascertain the exact reason for his suicide.

Investigating officer S-I Antar Singh Parihar from Palasia police station said the deceased was identified as Pratham Arya, 21, a resident of Betul. He was staying in a rented room in the Seva Sardar Nagar area preparing for NEET. He was found hanging by one of his friends. It was his friends who informed the police.

The statements of his family members are being taken down by the police to know the reason for Pratham’s suicide.

PSC aspirant ends life after talking to friend

The son of a police sub-inspector from Gwalior allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his hostel room in the Bhanwarkuan area, the police said on Tuesday. He had been preparing for PSC for two years. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.

Investigating officer ASI Ajay Singh Chouhan from the Bhanwarkuan police station said the deceased was identified as Ajay Singh Parihar, 23, a resident of Gwalior. He had put up here at a hotel. He committed suicide after talking to his female friend over the phone. He even informed her that he was going to commit suicide. She informed the hotel owner about this, after which two employees knocked on the door of the room. Not receiving an answer from inside, they broke open the door and found Ajay hanging from the ceiling fan. Later, the police were informed.

ASI Chouhan said Ajay’s father, Ashok Parihar, was a police sub-inspector and was posted in Gwalior. Ajay was in the city for two years and was preparing for the PSC examination. After the autopsy, Ajay’s uncle took his body to Gwalior for his last rites.

Woman ends life after arguing with husband

A woman hanged herself from the ceiling of her room following an argument with her husband in the Chandan Nagar area on Tuesday morning. According to the police, Kajal, 27, a resident of the Rajnagar area of the city, was found hanging by her husband, Satish. Satish informed the police that he had had an argument with Kajal over some issue after which he went to sleep. He found her hanging in the morning and took her to the hospital where she was declared brought dead. The police have sent the body for an autopsy and started an investigation to know the reason for her suicide.
