Indore (Madhya Pradesh): An alumni meet was conducted by IIM Indore for the participants of an executive programme, wherein over 30 alumni came together to relive and recreate their memories.

Alumni of six batches of the General Management Programme for Executives – GMPE came together on Sunday. The meet was conducted in the presence of IIM Indore director Prof Himanshu Rai, Alumni Affairs chair Prof. Ganesh Nidugala, Executive Education chair Prof Subin Sudhir, and GMPE programme coordinator Prof Saripalli Bhavani Shankar.

Rai, in his address, noted that students are the soul of the institute, and they remain to be so even once they graduate – for they represent the institute wherever they go. "IIM Indore is a family, and we consider each stakeholder’s contribution to the institute of utmost and equal importance. You, being an alumnus, play a substantial role in this, for you add value to the institute by bringing together your experiences from the industry and contributing to the executive education programmes," he said.

He noted that the success of a programme depends upon collaboration – both from the faculty and the students’ end – and executive education participants have always been enthusiastic about collaborating and enhancing the curriculum through their honest and valuable feedback.

Rai encouraged the alumni to remain compassionate and resilient as a leader and a manager.

"A successful leader not only can take their organization on the path of success but also ensures growth and well-being of their subordinates. Be compassionate, value others’ opinions, respect their feelings and choose the right path – this will help you build relationships and become a better human being," he said.

He also shared with the alumni various initiatives taken by the institute.

He noted that apart from multiple tie-ups with top-notch foreign universities for research and faculty and student exchange, IIM Indore has joined forces with several government and administrative bodies at the city, state, and even national levels.

Nidugala stated that this is the first time the institute has conducted alumni meet for the participants of an executive programme.

Sudhir and Shankar also shared their views with the alumni.

The alumni also shared their delight in coming to the campus on this occasion
