Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Ahilya Utsav Samiti organised an oratory competition for school teachers on the theme “Importance and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in the Present Era,” where participants highlighted both the opportunities and risks associated with AI.
Speakers observed that while artificial intelligence has made life easier and improved efficiency, its misuse could threaten privacy, employment, ethics and social harmony.
They stressed that AI should remain a tool for human progress and never replace human creativity, sensitivity or independent thinking. Participants also underlined the need for stricter regulations to prevent deepfakes, data theft and misinformation, while acknowledging AI’s growing role in healthcare, education, agriculture, security and innovation.
More than 25 schools participated in the competition, which began with lamp lighting and a floral tribute to Devi Ahilya. Shubham Sharma secured the first prize, while Pawan Yadav and Meenal Patil won the second and third prizes, respectively.
Encouragement awards were presented to Diksha Mahajan, Vinod Garhwal and Krishna Soni. Organisers said the event aimed to promote informed discussion on the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence.
