Indore: Administration getting ready for counting day

Officials said that only authorised counting agents of the candidates will be allowed entry at the counting venue. They will have to produce the prescribed authorisation letter and attested copies of their appointment letter.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Preparations are going on in full swing for counting votes for urban body elections on July 17. There will be 105 tables in eight rooms at the Nehru Stadium.

Officials said that only authorised counting agents of the candidates will be allowed entry at the counting venue. They will have to produce the prescribed authorisation letter and attested copies of their appointment letter.

The District Election Office said postal ballots would be counted at eight tables.

Informing about the seating arrangement, and official said, that first the counting agent of candidates of recognised national parties and then the counting agent of the candidates of recognised state parties who have been allowed to use their reserved symbol in that constituency, then candidates of unrecognised registered political parties and then the counting agents of independent candidates will sit at the tables allotted to them. They will not be allowed to roam around. Cigarettes and carrying tobacco and mobiles inside the counting hall will be prohibited.

For entry to the counting hall, the candidate and his election agent will be given admission through the identity card issued by the Returning or Assistant Returning Officer. Identity cards will be issued separately for the counting agents. For this, the candidates can submit the application along with the list to the Returning or Assistant Returning Officer till 5 pm on July 14.
