Khategaon (Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh): The body 20-year old man who drowned in Narmada river on Saturday, was recovered after 25 hours by boatmen from Nemawar on at about 4 pm on Sunday.
The deceased Ajay Saini had gone to bathe in river with his friends on Saturday. They entered deep waters. His two friends were saved by boatmen who were present on the banks. But Ajay was washed away by river current.
The police sent the body for post-mortem and later handed it to the family. As the body could not be fished out, Saini’s family members asked administration to send divers. Local boatmen and diver who had been searching for the body for about 25 hours, cast the net and took it out after reaching 35 feet deep in the river.
Khategaon MLA Ashish Sharma reached Nemawar to console the family and assured them of all possible help. The local boatmen and divers asked MLA to provide resources.
The boatmen who rescued two youth are Antim Kevat, Vinod Ghavria, Mukesh Kewat, Sonu Kewat, Mangal Kewat, Jialal Kewat who went to middle of river for rescue.
