Crowd Celebrating India’s Champions Trophy Win Attacked With Stones Near Masjid In MP's Mhow; Shops Set On Fire, Heavy Police Deployed

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A crowd celebrating India's victory in the Champions Trophy 2025 was allegedly attacked with stones in Madhya Pradesh’s Mhow on Sunday. The incident happened near Jama Masjid in Mhow.

The attack led to clashes between two groups, followed by stone-pelting, arson, and fire in different areas.

According to reports, the situation escalated quickly as both sides started throwing stones at each other.

Additional SP Rupesh Dwivedi said that the police resorted to a cane charge and fired tear gas shells at the stone pelters to control the situation.

SP Hitika Vasal also reached the spot and a heavy police force was deployed in the town to restore law and order and prevent further violence. SDM (Mhow) Rakesh Parmar said that two groups clashed following the cricket match, and officials are advising people to maintain peace.

No casualty has been reported, and the situation is under control.

Some vehicles and shops were also set on fire. Panic spread in the area as people tried to escape the violence.

Upon receiving the information, a heavy police force rushed to the spot to control the situation.

The police used force to disperse the crowd and bring the situation under control. Additional security forces have been deployed in the area to prevent further violence.

Officials have urged people to stay calm and not believe in rumors spreading on social media. Authorities are also monitoring CCTV footage to identify those responsible for the attack.

Local residents have demanded strict action against the miscreants involved in the violence.

Meanwhile, the police have assured that they are taking all necessary steps to maintain peace and order in Mhow.
