Burhanpur (Madhya Pradesh): Khaknar police in Burhanpur district arrested Lavesh Joshi, brother of Nepanagar MLA Sumitra Kasdekar’s personal secretary Priyesh Joshi, for posting objectionable remarks on social media against Mandi Board's vice-chairman Mandu Dadu, and other BJP leaders.

According to the complainant of Gangaram Marko, Lavesh addressed the BJP leaders as traitors.

“Police acting on the complaint filed by Gangaram Marko and others, booked Lavesh under Section 294 (obscene act) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code as well as relevant sections of the Scheduled Tribes Act and produced before the local court, from where he was sent to the Khandwa jail,” confirmed Khaknar police station in-charge KP Dhurve.

Lavesh posted a comment against Dadu, who has the status of Minister of State along with Pradeep Jadhav, Nandu Malviya, Ashfaq Malik, Gangaram Marko.

According to the complaint, Gangaram Marko, who secured the maximum votes from Ward No 8 of the district panchayat said that when he reached Lavesh Joshi with his complaint, he humiliated him by abusing him with derogatory remarks on his caste indicator and drove him away. Following which, he reached Khaknar police station and lodged a case.

On Sunday afternoon, there was a gathering of BJP leaders in the police station regarding this matter for about two hours.

Villagers who complained against Lavesh informed that Lavesh and others were annoyed after facing defeat in the recently held civic polls.

They informed that MLA Sumitra Devi had fielded her niece from her native village Dedtalai for the post of sarpanch. Against her, Gangabai, wife of Gangaram Marko, was in the fray and she emerged victorious by a margin of 1071 votes.

Apart from this, the MLA had fielded her supporter Manmohan Patel as a party authorised candidate from Ward No 8 and subsequently, he faced defeat against Gangaram Marko. Due to this, Lavesh had made this comment on social media in a fit of rage, expressing the anguish of defeat, which was overshadowed.
