Patna: First glimpses of Saugat-E-Modi kits from Bihar's Patna is out. The initiative by the minority wing of the Bhartiya Janata Party in the name of PM Narendra Modi, 'Saugat-e-Modi' special kits will be distributed to unprivileged Muslims on Eid.
The kit includes clothing, lungis, vermicelli, dry fruits, and sugar, which will be delivered to Muslim households before Chand Raat.
What Is Chand Raat?
Chaand Raat (Night of the moon) is a South Asian Cultural observance on the eve of Eid al-Fitr; it can also mean a night with a new moon for the new Islamic month Shawwal.
Chaand Raat is a time of celebration when Muslim families and friends gather in open areas at the end of the last day of Ramadan to spot the new moon, which signals the arrival of the Islamic month of Shawwal and Eid is celebrated the next day.
BJP's Bihar unit media incharge Danish Iqbal reacting to the initiative said, "Saugat-e-Modi" is a gift from PM Modi to bring Eid joy to poor and needy Muslims. It ensures that the underprivileged do not miss out on Eid celebrations."
What Does The Kid Include?
Along with food items, the kits includes clothes, vermicelli, dates, dry fruits, and sugar. Kits for women contains fabric for suits, while men's kits includes kurta-pyjamas. According to reports, the cost of each kit will be around Rs 500 to 600.
When EID Will Be Celebrated In India?
According to the central government's holiday calendar, Eid al-Fitr in 2025 falls on March 31 (Monday) and is recognised as a gazetted holiday in India. However, the exact date of celebrations will depend on the sighting of the crescent moon.
