Amroha (Uttar Pradesh), February 9: In a shocking incident, a man drove his SUV on a railway track in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha. Luckily, a major mishap was averted as there was no train running on the same track when the incident occurred. The driver was reportedly under the influence of alcohol. A video of the railway staff confronting the man has surfaced on the internet and the video is being widely shared on social media.
It can be seen in the video that a couple was inside the car and several others when the car was stuck on the railway after driving about 50 meters. The incident caused panic among the railway officials as the car was stuck on the railway track and a goods train was halted for about 35 minutes as the car was removed from the tracks using a municipal hydrant. They seemed to be returning from a marriage function as the incident occurred late at night.
There are reports that the incident occurred on Friday (February 7) at around 3 AM in the night. The car crossed the Bhimpur railway gate which was open and entered the railway tracks. The car was coming from the direction of Moradabad. The driver intoxicated and instead of taking the car on the road he sped the car onto the railway tracks. The car move around 50 meters on the railway track due to high speed after which it stopped.
The railway officials were stunned on noticing the car running on the railway tracks. They immediately rushed towards the car and stopped the car. The driver was clueless of what happened. The employees informed that he had taken his car on the railway track. He immediately got off the car and fled from the spot. The gatekeeper sent a message to the control room after which the goods train which was approaching the same railway track mas made to halt.
The train had to be stationed on the railway tracks for about 35 minutes. The goods train was coming from Delhi. The Station Superintendent was informed about the car being stuck on the railway track, after which he arrived on the spot. He carried out the rescue operation and moved the car from the tracks with the help of a municipal hydrant.

The freight train which was halted for about 35 minutes was able to proceed after the car was moved from the railway tracks. There are reports that a complaint was registered against the car driver who abandoned his car on the railway tracks and fled from the spot. The police registered a complaint in connection with the matter and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
