The central leaders of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) continued their brain storming sessions with Uttar Pradesh ministers and senior party leaders on Wednesday over state of affairs within the government and organisation. However after listening to all stakeholders and noting down the issues, a final decision on UP BJP will be taken at a high level meeting of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) top brass and senior party leaders scheduled in Delhi on June 5.

National general secretary organisation BL Santosh as well as UP in charge Radha Mohan Singh had been in Lucknow since Monday and have held several rounds of discussion with the important state ministers as well as party leaders. The prime concern behind this exercise was the dismal performance of BJP in the recently held panchayat elections and unrest among people over failure in the management of second wave of covid. During pandemic in the last two months, over two dozen BJP legislators, few ministers and MPs had written letters to the chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressing their unhappiness over the way the crisis was being managed. The images of dead bodies, floating in the rivers of UP also caused a major dent to the party’s image in national as well as in international media.

Both BL Santosh and Radha Mohan Singh held meetings with 12 UP ministers including Brijesh Pathak, Mahendra Singh, Suresh Khanna, Jai Pratap Singh, Satish Diwedi, Swati Singh and others. The duo also met with both the deputy ministers KP Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma separately and discussed about party’s prospects in the coming assembly elections in 2022.

According to a senior state BJP leader, the central leaders held closed door meetings with ministers and asked certain questions. The ministers were asked what will happen if the assembly polls are being held right now. Besides they were asked as to why party workers are annoyed with the government and what was the reason behind the debacle in the panchayat elections. After meeting with deputy CMs and ministers BL Santosh and Radha Mohan Singh met with the RSS functionaries in UP on Tuesday evening and took a stock of the situation in the state.

On Wednesday before leaving for Delhi both the central leaders called upon a meeting of the media team of BJP and enquired about the negative publicity of the state government. The media team of UP BJP was briefed about the crisis management. However a final decision on what corrective measures could be taken regarding UP will be taken in New Delhi. The meeting at Delhi on June 5 is likely to be attended senior party leaders and RSS top brasses.
