The conflict originated from an SP media cell post on May 16 linking Pathak's DNA to red-light areas, prompting an FIR by BJP workers at Hazratganj police station.
While Akhilesh Yadav initially urged restraint from both sides, Pathak's subsequent posts challenged SP's socialist credentials, demanding they "study Lohia's ideology properly." The exchange highlights growing tensions ahead of the 2027 assembly elections, with BJP framing SP's rhetoric as evidence of degraded political culture.
