New Delhi: The Delhi Assembly Elections Results are set to be declared on Saturday. With counting underway since early morning today, the BJP is seen comfortably winning the polls as they have managed to cross the majority mark and are way ahead of it as counting progresses. This victory will mean that the saffron party will end a 27-year drought from power in the national capital.
With AAP seen to lose its grip on the crucial Union Territory after 10 years of power, the internet has flooded with several memes giving credits to estranged AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal for the downfall of the party. The infighting between Maliwal and Kejriwal, which sparked after the CM office attack episode has marked the end of the Aam Aadmi Party, as per the netizens.

Despite not being given a poll ticket or probably not seeking one, Maliwal once a core member of Kejriwal's key team, in the past few months was seen hitting the streets and aggressively exposing the garbage issue, dirty nullahs, polluted Yamuna river, water-logged roads and inhuman living conditions in which lakhs of Delhiites lived in. From Burari to Vikaspuri, she shot videos of them and blamed Arvind Kejriwal for it.
The deplorable state of these areas in the national capital came as eye-opener and reflected a stark divide in the city that many believed only had big houses and wide, clean roads.
Nearly a week before the Delhi elections, Maliwal, along with a group of supporters, collected the garbage in three mini trucks and headed to Kejriwal's residence at 5, Ferozeshah Road. She was detained by the cops and taken to the Parliament Street Police Station.
What Led To Rift Between AAP & Swati Maliwal?
The rift between AAP and Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has intensified following the attack on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. The situation took a dramatic turn when Maliwal accused the AAP leadership of sidelining her, while the party countered with allegations of political motives behind her recent actions.
Maliwal claimed she was being ignored despite years of service. Her statements come in the wake of the assault she allegedly faced at Kejriwal’s residence in May, where Bibhav Kumar, the CM’s aide, was accused of misbehaving with her.
The incident led to a police complaint and Kumar was arrested. However, AAP leaders remained largely silent, leading Maliwal to suggest that the party was trying to protect its insiders at her expense. She further alleged that the attack was pre-planned and that the party leadership failed to stand by her.
AAP, on the other hand, has distanced itself from the controversy. The party has been dealing with multiple crises, including corruption allegations and electoral challenges. While some members initially expressed solidarity with Maliwal, the party soon shifted focus to accusing the BJP of exploiting the issue to destabilise AAP ahead of the elections.
