New Delhi: Chaos erupted at Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's public event in the Gandhinagar area on Friday. Notably, it was the first public event attended by Gupta after she was attacked on Wednesday, August 20.
A man reportedly shouted slogans against the CM at the event. The accused created ruckus after an argument with traders, reported NDTV. He was removed by security personnel from the venue. At the time of the incident, Gandhinagar MLA Arvind Singh Lovely was also present at the spot.
Rekha Gupta Attacked By A Man AT Her Official Residence On August 22:
The ruckus erupted two days after the CM was attacked by a man, identified as Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakariya from Rajkot, during' Jan Sunvai' public meeting at her official residence in Civil Lines.
Sakariya reportedly handed some papers to the chief minister and referred to a court case before reportedly slapping Gupta. The attacker reportedly shouted at Gupta and then abused and slapped her. The attacker was nabbed by Gupta's security personnel. Notably, Sakariya's relative is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
He is reportedly a dog lover. The attacker's mother told the police that he was upset over the Supreme Court's recent verdict on stray dogs to relocate them to shelters in Delhi-NCR, claimed media reports. She also said that his son was mentally unstable.

After the incident, the Delhi CM has been provided Z category security. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) commandoes have been deployed for the Delhi CM's security.
The attacker was sent for a five-day police remand on Thursday. The Delhi Police had registered an attempt to murder case against 41-year-old man. The police are interrogating the accused to ascertain the motive for the attack.
