PATNA: Union food and Consumer Welfare Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday filed his nomination papers as a NDA candidate for Rajya Sabha. He did not contest the Lok Sabha elections from his traditional constitutes Hajipur from where his younger brother Pashupati Kumar Paras was elected.
Paswan filed his papers before the returning officer BD Pande, secretary of Bihar assembly. Election was necessitated following resignation of Ravi Shankar Prasad, who was elected to Lok Sabha last month from Patna Sahib. With NDA having majority in Bihar assembly, his election appears certain.
