Rajasthan: Woman tied with 30 kg chain for three months by her husband and son

Jaipur: A man, suspecting his wife of having illicit relations, kept her tied up with a 30 kg iron chain for 3 months. His son and five others were also involved in this. Police have arrested all accused, while the state human rights commission has taken cognizance of the matter and sought a factual report from the police.

The incident took place in the Pratapgarh district in Rajasthan. The woman was rescued after the villagers informed the police. The woman was kept chained in a mud hut near the house of the accused. Police have rescued the woman and arrested her husband, Bhanru Lal Meena, his son and five others.

Police said that victim used to go to her mother’s village to take care of her parents but her husband and son suspected her of having illicit relations. Her husband chained her up three months ago and beat her so much that she couldn’t even walk.

The human rights commission of the state has taken cognizance of the matter and directed the district SP to send a factual report of the incident in 20 days.
