Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday called an all-party meeting for Thursday in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 28 civilians.

Sharing a copy of the invitation letter sent to political parties in the Union Territory, the Jammu & Kashmir CM wrote in a post on X: "In the aftermath of the attack in Pahalgam, I’ve called an all-party meeting tomorrow afternoon. I have sent out letters of invitation to all major political parties, all honourable Members of Parliament from J&K, and the Leader of the Opposition in the J&K Assembly."

According to the letter shared by Omar Abdullah, the meeting will be held on Thursday at 3:00 pm at the SKICC in Srinagar.

The letter stated: "I write to you with a heavy heart in the aftermath of the horrific attack that took place in Pahalgam yesterday. The lives lost and the anguish inflicted upon innocent citizens have deeply shaken us all. This is not merely a tragedy for a region or a party—it is a wound upon the very soul of Jammu & Kashmir."

Abdullah further wrote: "In this sombre moment, I believe it is our collective duty—as representatives of the people and as custodians of democratic values—to come together, irrespective of our political affiliations, and stand united in our response. I am, therefore, convening an all-party meeting to discuss the situation, express our joint condemnation of this act of terror, and deliberate on the path ahead in ensuring peace, justice, and resilience."

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge urged the Centre to convene an all-party meeting to forge a collective resolve in combating terrorism.
