One of the most popular names on Indian television, Shoaib Ibrahim, found himself at the receiving end of severe criticism after he shared an update on Tuesday about his new vlog while informing his fans that he was safe amid the horrifying terror attack in Pahalgam. Netizens lashed out at Shoaib for being tone deaf and called him an "opportunist".

Shoaib, along with wife Dipika Kakar and their 1-year-old son Ruhaan, were recently holidaying in Kashmir, and as soon as the news about the Pahalgam attack broke on Tuesday, fans flooded their social media handles with messages of concern. It was then that Shoaib decided to share an update, but his post sparked massive outrage.

"Hi guys, you all have been concerned for our wellbeing... Hum sab safe hain, theek hain. Aaj hi morning me we left Kashmir... and have reached delhi safely... Thank u for all the concern... New vlog coming soon (sic)," he wrote.

As soon as he shared the update, netizens slammed him for promoting his vlog even in the face of adversity and concern. "Tone deaf, inhumane and clout chaser (sic)," a user commented on social media, while another wrote, "New vlog coming soon, is he for real? Shameless (sic)."

"So full of himself…it’s shocking to see how he hasn’t even mentioned a one liner on the people who have faced this tragedy. People were fired and he’s here to create excitement for his new vlog (sic)," a netizen commented.

A few netizens also appealed to others to report Shoaib's Instagram account and YouTube channel and not consume his content.

For those unversed, armed terrorists infiltrated a popular tourist spot in south Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday and fired indiscriminately at the tourists, killing at least 26 in the ghastly attack. Several celebs including Hina Khan, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and others condemned the incident and urged the Indian government to give a befitting reply.
