Lakhisarai: A massive fire broke out in the Railway Mail Service (RMS) office at Kiul Junction in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district. The incident caused panic in the surrounding area and many important items and documents stored in the RMS office were destroyed in the fire.
Visuals from the site have surfaced, showing the office engulfed in flames and grey clouds of smoke billowing from the building. Fortunately, no staff were present in the office at the time of the fire.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The blaze was extinguished after fire tender teams reached the site. The incident occurred on platform number 4 and the extent of the damage caused by the fire has not yet been assessed.
As soon as the fire broke out, railway employees immediately alerted the fire brigade. A team arrived at the scene and, after considerable effort, brought the fire under control.
Probe Launched
The railway administration has ordered an investigation into the incident. Railway officials and local police are thoroughly probing the cause of the fire.
