Karnataka News: Case Filed Against Ola Electric Founder & Officials Following 38-Year-Old Engineer's Suicide

The Bengaluru police have booked a criminal case against Ola company CEO Subrath Kumar Das and the company owner Bhavish Agarwal for abetting suicide of the company employee.

Bengaluru, Oct 20: The Bengaluru police have booked a criminal case against Ola company CEO Subrath Kumar Das and the company owner Bhavish Agarwal for abetting suicide of the company employee.

Victim’s Suicide Note Details Alleged Harassment

Aravind K (38), the victim who was working as Homologation Engineer at Ola Electricals, Koramangala had left behind a 28-page suicide note, where he had written a detailed description of harassment mated to him in the company, leading to his suicide.

Aravind had also named both Subrath Kumar Das and Bhavish Agarwal in his suicide note, which his family members found a few days after the suicide that took place on 28, Sep, 2025 at his house in Chikkalasandra, Bengaluru South.

Suspicious Transaction Raises Questions

As a matter of fact, the family members were not aware of the reason behind Aravind committing suicide. However, a few days after his death, the company had transferred .₹ 17,46,313 to Aravind's account.

Growing suspicious over the transaction of such a huge amount from the company, Aravind's brother Ashin Kannan tried inquiring with the HR of the company.

However, HR failed to give any satisfactory explanation. But, the next day, three senior employees of the company -- Krithesh Desai, Paramesh and Roshan came to Aravind's house and started consoling the family members. For all the questions of the family members, they tried evading the answers and just tried consoling them not to pursue the incident further.

The family members grew suspicious and made a thorough cheking of Aravind's room, where they found 28-page suicide note. In the letter, he had written detailed description of how he was being harassed by the company CEO and senior engineers, leading to his suicide.

Complaint Leads to Police Action

Ashwin Kannan filed a complaint with the Subrahmanyapura police, who have registered a case against the company CEO Subrath Kumar Das, owner Bhavish Agarwal and Ola Electrical company also.

Legal Stay by Karnataka High Court

Meanwhile, both Subrat Kumar Das and Bhavish Agarwal have moved to the Karnataka High Court and have obtained an order, directing the police not to initiate stringent action against them.
