Delhi: A wedding in Delhi took an unexpected turn when the groom’s dance to a Bollywood song led to the ceremony being called off. The groom, encouraged by his friends, enthusiastically danced to Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai, unaware that his actions would offend the bride’s father.

Groom's Friends Urged Him To Dance On Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai

The groom arrived at the wedding venue in New Delhi with his baraat (wedding procession). As celebrations were in full swing, his friends urged him to dance, and when the popular Bollywood song started playing, he joined in. Some guests enjoyed the moment, cheering him on, but his performance did not sit well with the bride’s father, Navbharat reported.

Furious over what he considered an inappropriate display, the bride’s father immediately intervened, stopping the wedding and announcing its cancellation. He reportedly stormed out, claiming that the groom’s behaviour had insulted his family’s values and traditions.

The bride, devastated by the sudden turn of events, was left in tears. The groom attempted to explain that it was just harmless fun, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. Reports quoting sources close to the bride’s family revealed that her father remained firm in his decision, even prohibiting any further contact between the two families.

Incident Viral On Social Media

The incident quickly went viral on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), with a post featuring a newspaper clipping that read: “Groom dances on ‘Choli Ke Peeche’ to entertain guests. Bride’s father cancels the wedding.”

Similar Incident Reported In UP Recently

This isn’t the first time an Indian wedding has been called off over an unexpected dispute. In December last year, a wedding in Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli was abruptly cancelled when the groom became angry over a delay in serving food. Instead of waiting, he left the venue and later married his cousin the same day. The bride’s family, shocked by the turn of events, filed a police complaint, claiming losses of Rs 7 lakh due to the arrangements they had already made.
