The medical and health department of Rajasthan has identified 8 post-Covid problems in recovered patients, most of which are related to mental stress.
A team of psychologists, doctors, Ayush doctors and yoga trainers will examine, treat and counsel these patients in post COVID clinics started in every COVID dedicated hospital of the state.
The situation of Covid-19 infection in Rajasthan is now under control. The number of active cases is now only 27408 and new cases coming are around 1000 a day, but many recovered patients are coming up with new health problems especially those related to stress and anxiety apart from mucormycosis.
Officials of the department said that the second wave was more traumatic than the previous one and patients are facing many post-COVID complications. Problems related to mental stress like Depression, Anxiety, Insomnia and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder are very common in the recovered patients.
Based on reports, eight health problems have been identified in the patients namely Respiratory distress, Mental Trauma of Stress, Transitory Diabetes, Cardiac problems, Kidney problems, Pancreas Liver problems, Body Fatigue and Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome COVID.
The department has also issued orders to start a post-COVID clinic in every COVID dedicated hospital in the state. A pool of 10 psychologists will be created in each hospital and a team of doctors, Ayush doctors and yoga trainers will be appointed in these clinics to examine, treat and counsel the recovered patients. They are now focusing more on counselling of family members of affected patients so that they can take the necessary precautions and ensure timely treatment.
