Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday lost his cool in the State Assembly after he noticed Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Kumar Krishna Mohan alias Suday Yadav using a mobile phone.

Raising strong objections, Bihar CM stated that mobile phones are banned inside the Assembly.

Urging the Speaker to strictly enforce the ban, Nitish Kumar stated, "It is already banned in the House. I request you (Speaker) that whoever comes with a mobile phone should be thrown out of the House."

"Earlier, we used to see this a lot. We knew there would be trouble, so we stopped it in 2019. If this continues, the world will end in the next 10 years," he said. A clip of Bihar CM reprimanding the RJD MLA inside the state Assembly has surfaced online.

Leaders from the opposition parties have criticised the Bihar CM for raising objections on the usage of mobile phones inside the Assembly.

Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Thursday shared the clip of Nitish Kumar raising objections and hit out at the Bihar CM stating, "What did I hear just now? A CM stating in Assembly that the world shall end in ten years because of mobile phones?"

"There's a limit to madness and speaking nonsense!" he added.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav slammed the Bihar CM calling him "Illiterate CM".

In an X post, Tejashwi stated, "The world will end in 10 years because of mobile phones" - Honorable Shri Shri Nitish Kumar. In an effort to make the assembly paperless from an environmental perspective, an online system has been introduced for answering questions. If any honorable member wishes to ask a supplementary question, they must refer to their mobile or tablet. However, Bihar's computer-illiterate Chief Minister has an issue with that as well."

"It is unfortunate that Bihar has such a regressive, outdated Chief Minister who is not only against technology but also opposes youth, students, and women. Shameful!" he added.

Reacting to Bihar CM's remarks, RJD MLA Bhai Virendra told IANS: "We are not school students. We are MLAs and represent a section of people in the Bihar Assembly. Nitish Kumar is accusing us, but he should first stop his legislators and ministers who also use mobile phones to give answers inside the House."
