Raipur: Chhattisgarh State Congress Women Cell (CSCWC) has decided to stage a state level strong demonstration on June 20 against uncontrolled inflation, skyrocketing prices of goods and commodities, said CSCWC President Phulo Devi Netam, while addressing a joint press conference at State Congress Party Headquarters, Rajiv Bhavan on Wednesday.

This demonstration will be against the Modi government's draconian law and anti-people policies, Netam said.

Congress Member of Parliament (MP) from Korba, Jyotsana Mahant said, due to skyrocketing prices, running the kitchen and maintaining household expenses become cumbersome business for every homemaker woman. Despite the petrol and diesel prices being low in international markets, the Prime Minister Modi led central government has compelled the consumers to purchase these crude oils at inflated rates, the MP said.

"The hike in LPG cylinder rates had disturbed the home budget of every middle and poor class, the government failed to control Covid pandemic," Jyotsana added.

"The central government is carrying out atrocities and torturing the public for putting the BJP into power," Rajyasabha MP Chhaya Verma alleged.

"But the public will dethrone the government in the elections of 2024. We have planned to make each family aware by reaching out to their households. We begin the campaign on June 20, by staging a mass agitation through virtual media," Verma said.
