The Bhartiya Janta Party and Congress in Chhattisgarh are engaged in a tiff over the land purchase controversy of Ram Mandir premises in Ayodhya.

Congress party has issued copies of cheques by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel dated February 12, 2021. One of the copies was a donation of Rs 1.21 lakh made for construction of Ram temple, while a second cheque of same amount was donated for the construction of Kaushalya Temple.

The chief of Congress Party Communication department in a video said, "those people who do fraud with God, how will they spare humans?" ( Jo dete hain Bhagawan ko dhokha , we insan ko kya chodenge?).

The Congress party also issued a photograph of Chief Minister Baghel with the cheque.

The opposition claimed that Ram Mandir Trust was involved in a land scam which involved two real estate dealers allegedly purchasing a property from an individual for ₹ 2 crore and selling it -- minutes later -- to the Trust for ₹ 18.5 crore

Spokesperson of Chhattisgarh Congress RP Singh tweeted, "Ramlala, they came, and they consumed the money after selling the land" (Ramlala wo aagaye, Jameen bechkar Kha gaye).

Spokesperson of Chhattisgarh BJP, Gaurishankar Shrivas quizzed the CM asking, what is the compulsion behind making the secret donations related to Ram Temple construction public.

Pankaj Jha of BJP said, if required they will return the money of CM Baghel by raising funds money if anyhow the trust does not return.

However, it should be noted that both the leaders of AAP and SP accused Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai of purchasing a piece of land worth Rs 2 crore at an inflated price of Rs 18.5 crore, terming it as the biggest scam.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took a jibe, saying that donations by devotees were misused, "which was a sin".

However, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has refuted the allegations of corruption.
