Chhattisgarh: Congress leader Amarjeet Bhagat and BJP MP Saroj Pandey flout COVID-19 norms

Despite there are open warnings from the scientific community that lowering of our guard against Covid-19 will cost exorbitantly and bring more grave consequences to the public, Chhattisgarh Congress cabinet Minister Amarjeet Bhagat and BJP MP Saroj Pandey were found openly flouting the Covid protocols in the state.

Video clips circulated on the internet showed that Food and Civil supplies Minister Amajeet Bhagat, his son and his followers openly flouting the Covid protocol in the name of birthday celebrations.

While celebrating his birthday on Tuesday, the supporters not only gathered in mass at his residence in Ambikapur but a cultural programme was also organized. On both the places people gathered on the spot were seen without masks, no one was following the norms of social distancing.

Similarly, BJP MP from Durg Saroj Pandey also spotted with her followers celebrating her birthday in a crowd on Tuesday. Here, in the gathering it was spotted that neither MP nor her supporters were wearing masks, nor followed the social distancing.

This created an uproar on the internet. Many netizens made pugnacious remarks.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Durga Jha criticized the open flouting of Covid protocols by the elected public representatives. Public leaders cannot be allowed to flout the norms and risk the lives of many. I demand strong action against these leaders, Durga Jha said.
