BSP candidate booked for violation of poll code

Ballia (UP):  A case of violation of the election Model Code of Conduct has been registered against the BSP candidate from Salempur constituency, Ravishankar Singh, police said today.

The FIR  was registered at Khejuri police station following the allegations that Ravishankar Singh alias Pappu’s supporters wrote on walls while campaigning for him, they said.

MLC Ravishankar Singh is the grandson of former Prime Minister Chandrasekhar.

Yesterday an FIR was lodged against another BSP candidate from Ghaziabad, Mukul Upadhyay for using loudspeakers at a meeting in Nasirpur in the constituency.
