Hyderabad: A flex banner featuring gangster Lawrence Bishnoi created a stir during a Hanuman Jayanti procession on Thursday in Hyderabad. A youth was carrying a poster with a photo of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on one side and Bishnoi’s image on the other. The video from the procession has gone viral on social media.
The video shows a man sitting pillion on a scooter, holding a poster that had Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on one side and Lawrence Bishnoi on the other. The video has gone viral on social media.
Allegedly, provocative slogans, including “Aap ka baap aa raha hai”, were raised. Heavy police were reportedly present at the spot.
Earlier, a user on X had claimed that Lawrence Bishnoi’s photo was used by Bajrang Dal members in a Ram Navami procession in Odisha.
Bishnoi is currently lodged in Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Central Jail. Lawrence Bishnoi, the leader of the Bishnoi gang, has been linked to several high-profile crimes. His gang is accused in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui and has repeatedly issued threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
