A shocking video has surfaced online showing a group of men attacking a Thar driver from the Para area in the capital Lucknow. According to reports, several youths stopped a Thar vehicle in the middle of the road and brutally thrashed the driver on Sunday afternoon. They then smashed the car badly with bricks and completely shattered the vehicle's windows.

The video of the incident is rapidly going viral on social media. It clearly shows several youths surrounding and beating the Thar driver whilst raining down sticks and bricks on his vehicle. Despite a police booth being just a few metres away from the incident site, no police officer reached the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, the entire incident occurred within a few minutes. The victim kept trying to save himself, but the attackers showed him no mercy. The car windows were smashed and they created mayhem fearlessly on the road.

Local residents say that strongmen have been active in the Para area for a long time. Such incidents are now becoming commonplace. Police inaction is emboldening these thugs further. Following the incident, police have now said they will begin an investigation based on the viral video.

According to the Para police station officer-in-charge, they have received the victim's statement. A case will be registered soon and the accused will be arrested. At present, all the attackers are absconding. Police are trying to identify them. Meanwhile, there is anger amongst local residents following the incident. They say that if police had been proactive, such incidents would not occur.
