Music composer Tanishk Bagchi, who has delivered several Bollywood chartbusters over the years, recently opened up about going through a difficult phase in his life while working on the music for Saiyaara. In one of his latest interviews, Tanishk spoke about battling depression and self-doubt during the creative process, and how the film became a turning point for both his personal and professional journey.
'Mera breakup chal raha tha'
In a video shared by the makers, Tanishk also revealed that he broke up wit hhis girlfriend just before he started work on Saiyaara.
"Mera breakup chal raha tha beech mein. Tabhi hi main ye sab gaane kar raha tha. Main bahot relate kar paa raha tha. Gaana karte karte mujhe aisa feel hua ki main woh moment miss kar liya uske sath. If anyone is going through a breakup, they will go and patch up the next day after hearing the song."

During a conversation with Bollywood Shaadis, Tanishk also said that Saiyaara gave him hope.
Tanishk opens up about battling depression
Opening up about the process of creating the title song and his inspiration, the musician stated, "You have to feel it. Jab tak aap feel nahi karoge tab tak you can't take something out of it."
Describing how emotionally invested he was while composing the music for Saiyaara, he added, "I was depressed and thinking what I was doing in my life, and how it was going. Every time I had to prove that I am a good musician. You know how the industry works. There's competition and you have to earn money too to maintain your family. You have your love life going through that suffering. You are stressed, so everything around you is going to be stressed. I was going through that phase in my life, and fortunately, I met Mohit sir."
Tanishk expresses gratitude, praises Mohit Suri
He credited Saiyaara's director Mohit Suri for pulling him out of that dark phase. He shared that Mohit not only collaborated with him on a professional level but also offered emotional support and reassurance. "Mohit sir used to tell me that I was a good musician. He told me that I had already proven myself, and this time could be a new step where I might get many new things," he stated.
Tanishk expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work on Saiyaara, which he believes reignited his hope. "This film gave me a lot of hope about my personal life. It also gave me a thought that if you make something with love, then you don't have to think about hit or flop. It is going to penetrate hearts."
Saiyaara fever
The title track of Saiyaara has become quite popular with fans. Composed by Tanishk, the song's emotional tune and touching lyrics have connected with people. It is being used in reels, videos, and social media posts, especially for romantic or sad moments. The song has crossed 115 million views on YouTube, showing its huge success.
With lyrics by Irshad Kamil, the song has been sung by Faheem Abdullah. Tanishq, Faheem and Arslan Nizami have composed the song.
