Queens Hai Hum is a very bold concept, says Shaily Priya Pandey

Television actress Shaily Priya Pandey seen as Jyoti Gupta’s in Queens Hain Hum speaks about the show and more…

The concept of the show is very bold. Comment.
> Yes, it is too bold a concept. Nobody expects a TV show to be something other than the traditional husband-wife or saas-bahu story. It is really an out of box show, especially the lesbian part of the story. It is very unexpected and very well-written. Also, the story of change in gender roles, where the wife is the earning member of the family and the man being the house husband is interesting. So it is a very unpredictable and unexpected content.

Any interesting incident from the set?
> There are not many incidents because all the queens shoot separately now. But in the beginning, I was the newest person on the set, and as I said I am very shy. So others were very mischievous and used to tease me and stuff. Now they are sorry about it, but it is fun working with all of them.

Who is your favourite co-star?
> Apart from the Queens, my favourite is Darshan Pandya who’s playing the role of Pushkar. We started shooting together recently. I can relate to him, because he is my college friend in the show, and I had just passed out of my college. So I am very comfortable and carefree shooting with him.

What feedback are you getting for your role?
> From India, the feedback I am getting is that people are appreciating my character and my acting. But mostly I have got a fan-following outside India on Twitter and Instagram, where people are appreciating the story. They are giving very minute compliments about the content, the reality of the girls that the show is depicting, the different shades of the characters and the topic of sex orientation.

What shows have you done?
> Queens Hain Hum is my debut in television. I have done many ads before like Flipkart, Hamdard Safi and Dominos. I started my career with theatre in Delhi, and then I gave auditions for TV and got Queens Hain Hum.
