Actress Sandeepa Dhar, known for her roles in popular web series like Abhay and Mai, recently slammed the normalisation of Botox, calling it a 'big deal' and warning that it sets a wrong example for young girls who might collect money from here and there to undergo such procedures. Sandeepa shared that actresses are constantly told they have a shelf life and are expected to maintain a certain appearance.

Sandeepa stated that actresses are expected to always look a certain way. As they grow older and start noticing lines on their faces—witnessing the process of aging, which is actually a beautiful thing—the industry somehow makes it feel like a wrong thing.

"As I’m growing older, that is something I’ve come to realise that every line on my face, there’s a story in it, it’ll only add to my character. I don’t need to succumb to injections and surgeries to look like a 21 year old. I’m not a 21 year old," she told TellyChakkar.

Further, Sandeepa called out an actress who, in an interview, once said, "Haan, maine toh do-teen cheezein karayi hain. What’s the big deal? I’ll own up to it." Reacting to this, she expressed her disappointment, stating that it upsets her when people try to normalise it. She added that it is a big deal since it is an operation, a serious procedure that one is undergoing.

"There are 16-17 year old girls out there who will collect money from here and there and be like ‘I want to change this thing about myself’. You know how many people die on those operation tables? It’s very risky, it’s a surgery at the end of the day. In fact, you should not be doing surgeries unless and until it is for your life. If your life is at risk, that’s the only time you should be doing a surgery," Sandeepa added.

On the work front, Sandeep was recently seen in the web series Pyar Ka Professor, which was released on MX Player.
