Defying trade predictions and reviews by critics, Thalapathy Vijay's Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is unstoppable at the box-office.
The film which was one among several Indian and international releases during the long Dussehra weekend, seems to have emerged victorious at the global box-office with collections amounting to ₹200 crores.

Leo also becomes the third-highest grossing Indian film of 2023, after the likes of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Pathaan.
Below is a break-down of the top global grossers for the weekend
1. Leo - $44.2 Million
2. Killers Of The Flower Moon - $44 Million
3. Taylor Swift: The ErasTour - $41 Million
In India too, the film witnessed new records. While it became the highest opener for an Indian film in 2023 at ₹148 crores, it also witnessed record-breaking business for a Tamil film in its home state Tamil Nadu.
But, trade experts have also observed that the makers did not choose to concentrate on the film's marketing in the Northern belt of India, which has witnessed lesser footfalls, in comparison to the Southern states. Only time will tell if the film stands this litmus test.
