Actress Mahhi Vij has finally broken her silence on ongoing rumours suggesting trouble in her marriage with actor and television host Jay Bhanushali. Addressing the speculation in an interview, Mahhi expressed her frustration over social media trolls making assumptions and judgments about their personal lives.
Mahhi addresses separation rumours
Reacting sharply to the buzz, Mahhi said during a candid conversation with Hautterfly, "Agar separation hai toh bhi main kyu batau tumko? Tum mere chacha lagte ho? Mere lawyer ki fees doge ya divorce karwaoge? (Even if there is a separation, why should I tell you? Are you my uncle? Will you pay my lawyer's fees or help me get a divorce)."
She went on to call out the unsolicited comments and harsh judgments made by trolls. "They comment things like 'Mahhi is decent, Jay is like this' or 'Jay is nice but Mahhi is like that.' Who are you, really? Do you even know anything about us to judge like this?" she added.
Mahhi also addressed the public's tendency to sensationalise celebrity relationships. "People just wait for something ugly to happen so they can say, 'Now things will get ugly and now they'll start throwing mud at each other.' But I just feel - live and let live," she stated.
However, Mahhi neither confirmed nor denied the divorce rumours directly. On the other hand, Jay has not reacted to the rumours yet.
Jay and Mahhi's marriage and separation rumours
Jay and Mahhi tied the knot in 2010 and their daughter Tara was born in 2019. The couple also adopted their caretaker's kids, Khushi and Rajveer, in 2017. They often share Tara's adorable pictures and videos with their fans on Instagram.
However, since the last couple of years, rumours are rife that Mahhi and Jay are separated and are planning to get divorced. The couple has also stopped sharing videos and photos with each other on social media.
