South Korean superstar Kim Soo Hyun was embroiled in a massive scandal earlier this year at the peak of his career after the death of actress Kim Sae-ron, and since then, he has gone MIA from the entertainment sphere. Amid reports that the actor was struggling mentally, professionally and financially, a post went viral claiming that Soo Hyun was hospitalised due to a serious leg injury.
It all began after an X handle by the name of Kim Soo Hyun shared photos of the actor lying on the hospital bed with a plastered leg. Along with that, a note by the handle read, "To my Dearest Fans I wanted to share something personal with you all. I recently had a fall down some stairs and injured my leg. Thankfully, it’s not too serious and I am receiving good care at the hospital. Leave me a message. I’d love to feel your energy and hear your words while I heal (sic)."
Netizens slam fake account
But netizens soon realised that it was not Soo Hyun's real account and that someone was impersonating him. The post was deleted after severe backlash.
A fan page of Soo Hyun, named London For Kim Soo Hyun, clarified that the Queen of Tears star was hail and hearty and that his name was maliciously used for clout. "Start respecting the man behind the fame," they wrote.
Kim Soo Hyun dating scandal
For those unversed, actress Kim Sae-ron's suicide in February this year opened a can of worms for Soo Hyun, as the late star's family accused the actor of dating her when she was a minor, 'grooming' her, and then abandoning her after he became a superstar.
While Soo Hyun admitted that he did date Sae-ron for a year, he stated that they were in a relationship when she was already an adult. He also accused Sae-ron's family of trying to milk her death and framing him with false accusations.
