American singer-songwriter Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom have officially called it quits. The couple broke up after dating for over 10 years and being engaged for six years. They have decided to co-parent their daughter as a family, an official statement read.
The representatives of Katy and Orlando shared an official statement with the US Weekly, which read, "Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect."
While their relationship has ended, the two are reportedly cordial to each other and are on good terms.
"It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life," the report stated.
Katy and Orlando welcomed a baby girl in 2020, and they named her Daisy. She was born a year after their engagement in 2019.
The report also mentioned that the reason behind the breakup might be the failure of Katy's latest album, 143, which released in September last year but did not really generate the buzz.
"Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album. It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension," the report stated, adding that the singer was also stressed over the poor audience response to her tours and concerts, and all that stress affected the relationship.
Amid the breakup, Orlando grabbed eyeballs after he was seen attending Jeff Bezos' wedding alone, sans Katy, who cancelled her invitation in the last minute.
Katy and Orlando are yet to issue a statement on the breakup on their respective social media handles.
