Actress Alia Bhatt recently shared her excitement about the first glimpse of her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama in filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited film Ramayana. Soon after the makers released the new glimpse on Thursday (April 2), it sparked reactions online, with social media platforms flooded with reviews and discussions about the film’s scale and visuals.
Amid the buzz, a clip from Alia’s virtual interaction with fans surfaced online, where she spoke about the upcoming reveal of the Rama glimpse. Encouraging fans to support the film, she said, "Please go out there and support it."
She also praised Ranbir’s performance in the film, expressing her excitement for audiences to watch the glimpse. "It's absolutely fabulous. I think Ranbir has just done such a beautiful job and I just can't wait for you guys to see it. It's just out of this world."
Soon after the clip went viral, many social media users praised Alia for her enthusiasm and support, calling her a “supportive wife” as she rooted for Ranbir and the film.
Fans had earlier hoped the makers would unveil new content from Ramayana on the occasion of Ram Navami. However, when no announcement was made that day, many were left disappointed. Later, the film’s producer Namit Malhotra addressed fans on social media and revealed that the next glimpse, titled Rama, would instead be released on Hanuman Jayanti, April 2, through a grand world reveal.
The teaser introduces Ranbir as Lord Rama, presenting him as the beloved prince of Ayodhya before showing key moments from his journey, including his exile into the forest along with Lakshmana and Sita. In a short span of time, the glimpse captures several events from the life of Lord Rama.
One of the most striking elements of the teaser is its powerful background score, created by legendary composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.
While the teaser largely focuses on Ranbir’s portrayal of Rama, it also offers brief and slightly blurred glimpses of other characters. Audiences can spot Ravie Dubey and Sai Pallavi in quick shots. Toward the end, Yash makes an appearance, giving viewers a glimpse of Raavan and his majestic Pushpak Viman.
Prior to this, a three-minute glimpse from the film was unveiled on July 3, 2025, offering audiences their first look at the epic adaptation.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features an ensemble cast including Ranbir as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.
The ambitious mythological epic will be released in two parts. The first instalment is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide in October 2026 ahead of Diwali, while the second part is slated for release during Diwali 2027.
