YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, who was at the centre of the India's Got Latent controversy in February, dropped the first video on his YouTube channel on Sunday after almost two months. In the video, he thanked all those who supported him and apologised to the people whom he let down. He also called it a "fresh start" and promised to be more mindful of the content he creates henceforth.
The video started with a montage reading, "There's more to say, but not right now. Thank you for your patience." Ranveer then greeted the viewers with folded hands, and said, "First of all, thank you to all my supporters and well-wishers. Your positive messages helped me and my family a lot. This phase was very difficult... I openly received violent threats, so much of online hatred, so many media articles... we went through a lot, but in the midst of it all, your DMs helped us a lot."
Ranveer also thanked his team and crew members for standing strong by him, and he claimed that not a single person from the 300-member crew resigned when the YouTuber hit a rough patch. He also shared that he received calls from actors, sportspersons and other eminent personalities who had appeared on his show in the past.

"I promise that as long as I create content for the next 20-30 years, I will do it more responsibly. I've understood I have such big responsibility on my shoulders. The fact that you all consider me a member of your family is the biggest responsibility," he gushed.
"I love podcasting, I love content creation. Hamare desh ka history, culture explore karna, yeh mera passion hai and that's what I am doing through my job... Mujhe desh ke culture se bohot jyada pyaar hai, and I am now trying to write a new story after this fullstop. I hope you support me and my team in this journey," he concluded.
Ranveer also mentioned that meditation helped him keep his calm during the India's Got Latent controversy and the subsequent backlash that followed.

What is the India's Got Latent controversy?
For those unversed, Ranveer has been facing severe backlash after during the an episode of Samay Raina's India's Got Latent, he asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life — or would you join in once and stop it forever?"
Post the criticism, the Youtuber issued an apology stating that there was a "lapse in judgement" and that comedy was not his forte.

But the damage was already done and multiple FIRs were filed against him, along with Samay Raina and the others on the Latent panel, and in the statement that he recorded with the cops later, Ranveer admitted that he was wrong and vowed to be more careful in the future.
