Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia's rumoured girlfriend, actress Nikki Sharma, was spotted at an event in Mumbai recently. However, she refused to comment on the India's Got Latent controversy surrounding Ranveer.
Several videos of Nikki have been doing the rounds on social media in which Nikki is seen interacting with media. In one of the videos, shared by paparazzo Viral Bhayani on Instagram, Nikki was asked how she handles media attention when a 'close friend' is in trouble.
"You get a lot of calls from media for your reaction when your close friend lands in trouble. How do you handle such situations?" Nikki was asked.
The actress gracefully replied, "I don't answer unknown calls," avoiding any comment on Ranveer or the controversy.
While Ranveer and Nikki were often spotted vacationing together, there were reports stating that the duo parted ways after India's Got Latent controversy. Last month, netizens noticed that Ranveer and Nikki also unfollowed each other on social media.
Meanwhile, Ranveer has apologied for his comments and the Supreme Court allowed the YouTuber to resume his podcast amidst the row. He had moved an emotional appeal in the apex court calling his podcast his "only source of livelihood". He has been allowed to resume the podcast under the condition that he will maintain "decency" and "desired standards of morality".
What is the India's Got Latent row?
The entire fiasco erupted when Ranveer appeared on India's Got Latent as a guest, and during a segment, asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?"
The supposed joke was not received well by netizens, who then bashed Ranveer, Samay Raina and the others related to the show, and demanded strict action against them for "promoting vulgarity and obscenity online".
Multiple FIRs were filed against Ranveer, Samay and others, post which the YouTuber issued an unconditional apology stating that there was a "serious lapse in his judgement".

Post issuing the apology, Ranveer went MIA and cops said that his phone was not reachable and his house was locked. However, he later issued another statement in which he said that he was constantly being threatened and his family too was being targeted.
Meanwhile, Ranveer has also obtained an interim protection from arrest from the Supreme Court in the case.
