Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna's Sikandar hit the big screens on Sunday (March 30) but opened to mixed reviews and a lukewarm box office response. Netizens have largely criticised the film, particularly the performances of the actors. Since its release, social media has been flooded with reactions, with many expressing disappointment. Additionally, a section of users was left shocked by veteran actor Sathyaraj's portrayal as the antagonist.

While some felt that director AR Murugadoss failed to bring out the best in the seasoned actor, others criticised Sathyaraj's performance, calling it lackluster and unimpressive.

For the unawares, Sathyaraj is seen as politician Rakesh Pradhan in the action drama. He essays the role of Prateik Babbar's father.

Netizens criticise Sathyaraj's performance

Reacting to Sathyaraj's performance in Sikandar, a user wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), "Terrible Villain. Zero Impact." Reacting to the post, a person commented, "So sorry to hear this when an actor like Sathyaraj is involved."

Another critic wrote, "#Sathyaraj ins #Sikandar has to be One Of the POOREST VILLAINS ever in the INDIAN CINEMA with ABSOLUTELY ZERO IMPACT😥 Casting Director should not be given his fees for this AWFUL CASTING."

"I think Murugadoss couldn't get the best out of his actors. He failed terribly," wrote another user.

"Any big movie needs a great villain. He might be big in South but no one knows him in the north. Terrible choice," read another comment.

Meanwhile, Sikandar was hit with the piracy menace on Saturday evening, just hours before its theatrical release. According to several media reports, the makers pulled the pirated version down from 600 websites on Saturday night, but in vain.

Sikandar marks Salman's first collaboration with Ghajini director, AR Murugadoss. The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Anjini Dhawan, Kishore, Jatin Sarna, Nawab Shah, Sanjay Kapoor and others.
