YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav reacted to the tragic suicide of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, who died in the early hours of December 9 following harassment from his wife Nikita Singhania and her family. Elvish demanded justice for Atul and said that he must have been 'depressed,' which led him to take such an extreme step.

He was heard saying in Hindi, "There is a man who is being tortured by his wife and whatever his circumstances were. He chose to end it. I was so surprised that ours is the judicial system of India; I don't want to say but our law is more in favour of women. I am saying that it should be fair."

Check out Elvish Yadav's video:

"I don't differentiate between man and woman. I want, whether it is a man or a woman, that whoever is wronged should get help. People think that he is a misogynist man, but that is not the case. For me, everyone is equal. A person has ended his life, and if he has not gotten justice till now, then according to me our system is not fair," Elvish added.

Further, calling Atul's wife, 'insensitive', he said, "His wife is writing all, 'Why don't you commit suicide?' 'Why don't you die?' 'We will party.' What an insensitive lady she is, whatever she is saying. And this guy must be going through so much anger that he is dead. This is my request to all the government officials; I would like to say that justice should be served to this guy."

Atul Subhash's heartbreaking video

Before taking the extreme step, Subhash recorded a video explaining the circumstances behind his decision. He urged his family not to immerse his ashes until justice was served. His suicide note also included a message for his four-year-old son, whom he claimed had been kept estranged from him.

Subhash's death led to the filing of an FIR against his wife, Nikita Singhania, her mother, brother, and uncle, on charges of harassment, extortion, and corruption. The FIR, lodged by Subhash's brother Bikas Kumar at Marathahalli police station in Bengaluru, includes allegations under sections 108 (abetment of suicide) and 3(5) (joint criminal liability) of the BNS Act.
