The makers of the hit daily soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai have been accused of copying Hania Aamir and Fahad Mustafa's blockbuster Pakistani drama, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, scene-by-scene. Fans were left fuming after the current track aired and they realised that it was a blatant rip off of the Pakistani show.
In the current track of YRKKH, the leads Abhira and Armaan can be seen starting from scratch and struggling to make ends meet after moving out of their original house. While they manage to find a sub-standard house in a shabby locality, the latest episodes have been focusing on how the two are trying hard to make a home out of the house without anyone's help.
Netizens found the trope similar to that of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, and they also pointed out that the even the house looked very similar to the one shown in the Pakistani drama. Not just that, but fans also mentioned that the current looks of the actors and some scenes were blatantly lifted from Hania and Fahad's show.

"The house, the styling omg DKP is so shameless, not a single original thought in that production house nowadays (sic)," a Redditor commented, while another wrote "They even copied the bottle scene when the parents visit. They could have added their touch to the same storyline but they aren't doing anything just copying. This will bring hate to the characters because they don't have chemistry like Musjeena (sic)."
For those unversed, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum told the story of Sharjeena (Hania) and Mustafa (Fahad), who fall in love despite being polar opposites of each other, and fight against all odds to make a live for themselves. The show became one of the most-watched Pakistani dramas of all times, and it was a hit not just in the neighbouring country but also in India. It is available to watch on YouTube for free.

Meanwhile, the current season of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai stars Rohit Purohit as Armaan and Samridhii Shukla as Abhira in lead roles. The show has been produced by Directors Kut Production (DKP).
