Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has subtly shut down all rumours of being removed from Border 2, amid strong objections raised by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) over the film's ongoing shoot. The controversy stems from the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his recently-released Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, but Dosanjh continues to remain a part of the sequel.

Putting the rumour mills to rest, the Lover singer on Wednesday shared a behind-the-scenes video from the sets of Border 2, where he can be seen dressed in uniform, wearing a navy blue turban. As he entered the location, he was greeted with loud cheers from the crowd and was seen reading his script. To top it off, he added the iconic track Sandese Aate Hain from the original Border in the background.

Sharing the video on his Instagram handle, Diljit simply captioned it, "BORDER 2."

The film also has Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty in the lead.

Earlier, it was reported that Diljit had been removed from Border 2, and that Punjabi actor Ammy Virk might replace him in the sequel. However, Ammy's team denied the rumours and clarified to Hindustan Times that there was no truth to the reports, "These are just speculations. We haven't got any call from anyone as of now."

FWICE even wrote a letter to Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, and Anurag Singh, urging them to remove Diljit from Border 2. "It is important to bring to your notice that Border 2 features actor Diljit Dosanjh, who has been officially boycotted by FWICE owing to his involvement with individuals and content that have deeply disrespected Indian sentiments, especially by associating with Pakistani artists known for their anti-India views, and participating in projects filmed in sensitive border locations like Pahalgam immediately following terror incidents targeting our armed forces," the letter said.

Border 2 is likely to be released on January 23, 2026.
