Mumbai: After two electrifying performances on January 18 and 19, Coldplay delivered their final concert on January 21 at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Known for their stunning visuals, dazzling light displays and high-energy performances, the shows captivated fans, taking them on an emotional journey.

The music band's frontman Chris Martin and his partner Dakota Johnson were spotted walking hand-in-hand while leaving their hotel near Gateway of India in Colaba yesterday. They were en route to the band’s final concert, accompanied by Dutch DJ Martin Garrix, who performed alongside Coldplay.

In a smart move to avoid Mumbai’s notorious traffic snarls, the band decided to ditch road travel and opted for a boat ride from the Gateway of India to Belapur Jetty in Navi Mumbai. From there, they reportedly completed a short 10-minute drive to the DY Patil Stadium in Nerul.

About Gateway-Belapur Water Taxi Services

Interestingly, water taxi services from Belapur Jetty to the Gateway of India were launched on February 7, 2023, aimed at reducing travel time between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Inaugurated by then Maharashtra Ports Development Minister Dadaji Bhuse, the water taxi, named Nayan XI, accommodates 140 passengers on its lower deck and 60 on the upper business-class deck.

Tickets, priced at Rs 250 for the lower deck and Rs 350 for the upper deck, can be booked on www.myboatride.com. However, services operate only on weekdays, excluding weekends.

Traffic Restrictions Placed In View Of Concert

Additionally, to ensure smooth traffic management during the concert, the Navi Mumbai Traffic Department implemented strict measures. Heavy vehicles were banned from entering the city between 2 PM and 11 PM on concert days, while traffic diversions and no-parking zones were enforced.

Key routes, including LP Bridge Signal to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and Shani Mandir Arch to Bhimashankar Chowk, were restricted. Motorists were encouraged to use alternative routes, such as Nerul Station Road to Shivaji Chowk and Palm Beach Road, to avoid congestion.
