British band Coldplay is set to perform in Mumbai, India, as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025, marking their first performance in the country since 2016, when they headlined the Global Citizen Festival. Days ahead of the Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on January 25 and 26, the District Child Protection Unit has issued a notice to the band.
According to ANI, the administration has asked Coldplay "not to use children in any form on stage" during their performance in Ahmedabad. Additionally, they have directed that no children will be allowed to enter the venue without earplugs or hearing protection. Failure to adhere to these guidelines could result in harsh action by the District Child Protection Unit in Ahmedabad.
The Unit has advised the band that sound levels exceeding 120 decibels during the concert could pose significant risks to children's health. The notice was issued after a complaint was filed by Pandit Rao Dharnevar, Assistant Professor of Sociology in Chandigarh, who had also filed a complaint against singer Diljit Dosanjh's New Year's Eve concert in Ludhiana.
Dharnevar also stated that loud music and bright lights at the concert could have an impact on youngsters' physical health and mental development.

Coldplay has three major shows lined up in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, respectively, all scheduled to take place at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Later, the band is set to perform at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25, 2025.
Jasleen Royal will perform as a special guest at Coldplay's India tour.
Audiences can also expect to hear beloved classics such A Sky Full Of Stars, Fix You, Yellow, Hymn For The Weekend, Something Just Like This, The Scientist, and Viva La Vida, among others.
