Chitrangda Singh, who was last seen in Housefull 5, is all set to star next in Battle of Galwan, alongside Salman Khan in the lead. The film, based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict between Indian and Chinese armed forces, marks the first-ever collaboration between Salman and Chitrangda, known for her roles in Inkaar, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Yeh Saali Zindagi, and Desi Boyz. Now, the 48-year-old actress has opened up about teaming up with Salman, revealing how he fulfilled a years-old promise.
In a statement, the actress shared how she was supposed to collaborate with Salman several years ago on a Marathi project, but it got shelved. She added, "It feels incredibly special to be a part of Galwan. Few years ago, there was a remake of a Marathi project where I was supposed to work alongside Khan, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar."

Chitrangda said, "Unfortunately, the film never went on floors. I still remember Mr Khan saying, 'There is always a next time to work together.' After all these years, like he says, 'Ek baar maine commitment kar di, toh main apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta,' and true to his word, he honoured that commitment."
Chitrangda also praised director Apoorva Lakhia for trusting her with the role, sharing that he could have cast any big star instead of her, but chose to believe in her craft, something she is truly grateful for. She added that she deeply appreciates his faith in her and feels proud to be part of a story as significant and powerful as the Battle of Galwan.
Battle of Galwan is based on one of India's most brutal battles fought without a single bullet being fired. It was fought over 15,000 feet above sea level.
The film features Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, Harshil Shah, Heera Sohall, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Vipin Bhardwaj. However, the makers have not yet announced a release date.
