Actor Chandrachur Singh, who rose to fame with films like Josh starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Kya Kehna alongside Preity Zinta, was reportedly approached by Karan Johar for the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as well. During an episode of Koffee With Karan featuring Salman Khan, Karan discussed how he had approached Chandrachur and Saif Ali Khan for the role of Aman, but they rejected it, and was eventually done by Salman.
In the episode, Karan said, “I remember the first time I ever came to your zone to narrate my first film to you. Saif and Chandrachur had said no to the role. And you said that no one’s going to do your role, you come and meet me tomorrow.”
Salman further explained, “It was not difficult for you to get a Shah Rukh Khan in the film but it was very difficult for you to get this casting (Aman) because Saif at that point of time was doing nothing. Chandrachur was doing nothing. Even they refused it. I did it, Karan. I saw talent, I saw genius in you. And after that, you never worked with me.”
The video of the same surfaced on social media recently, and Chandrachur, who usually keeps himself away from the spotlight commented on the clip and wrote, “Jhoot Salman Ka", when a user asked why he'd say that, the actor explained, “Mere paas Josh, Daag The Fire, Kya Kehna, Silsila Hai Pyaar Ka, etc. This. I made a choice.” Chandrachur later deleted the comment, but the screenshot of the same went viral on Reddit.

Chandrachur Singh returned to showbiz with the web series Aarya alongside Sushmita Sen. He was last seen in the 2022 film Cuttputlli with Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh.
