Ankit Gupta recently quit his show Terre Ho Jaayein Hum, co-starring his rumoured girlfriend Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, amid breakup rumours. He cited needing "time for himself," which only fueled the speculation about their split. The show is produced by Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta's Dreamiyata. In the midst of this, reports suggest that Priyanka has found a new on-screen hero.
The news was reported by Gossips TV on their Instagram handle, which shared that Barun is now the new lead in Terre Ho Jaayein Hum and will star opposite Priyanka. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.
On Friday, Ankit confirmed backing out of the show and told Bollywood Bubble, "I backed out of the project with Ravi-Sargun. I don’t think I would be able to commit to that project right now. Maybe I need some time for myself to rejuvenate and recharge. As I said, that’s probably why I won’t do Khatron Ke Khiladi this year either. I’m just taking time for myself, so I’m not thinking about work at the moment."
For the unversed, Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta recently launched their YouTube channel, Dreamiyata Drama.
In December 2024, the first look of Terre Ho Jaayein Hum was unveiled on social media, featuring Ankit and Priyanka.
Priyanka and Ankit's on-screen chemistry in Udaariyaan was adored by audiences, quickly becoming one of the show's highlights. They both also participated in Salman Khan's reality show Bigg Boss 16, where their close bond led to dating rumours.
While their chemistry on the show confirmed the speculation, the two continued to refer to each other as 'best friends,' despite Priyanka confessing to having feelings for Ankit.
Reports of their breakup surfaced online when they unfollowed each other on Instagram.
