Actor Avinash Tiwary recently gave a fitting reply to Pakistani writer and celebrity stylist Rao Ali Khan after being body-shamed on Instagram. It all started after Khan commented on one of Avinash's photos, referring to his physique in his popular web series Khakhee: The Bihar Chapter and Bambai Meri Jaan.
Khan commented, "Loved Bombay Meri Jaan. Was thinking why do you have belly fat in Khakhee and Bombay Meri Jaan both. Happy to see fitter body – super super." In a separate comment, he added, "Loved Bombay Meri Jaan but pls loose [sic] weight and look fit."
The remarks didn't go unnoticed. Avinash responded sharply but respectfully. He wrote, "Sir, you are a journalist… if you had done any research you would know it was for the part... I suggest get beyond the idea of just vanity for cinema. Thank you."
Avinash's response has been praised by his fans for calling out shallow beauty standards.
In October 2023, a month after the release of Bambai Meri Jaan, Avinash had shared a glimpse of his physical transformation for the role of Dara Kadri.
Along with it, he wrote, "On this journey, I decided to gain weight, grow hair, no vanity, no grooming to ensure that he (his character) never appeared desirable (so much for glorifying and making a hero outta a true 'G')."
Avinash is known for his powerful performances in films and web series. He began his journey with small roles and got noticed for his lead role in Laila Majnu (2018), where he played a passionate lover opposite Triptii Dimri. His strong screen presence and emotional acting won praise.
He later appeared in shows and films like Bulbbul, Khakhee: The Bihar Chapter, Bambai Meri Jaan, Ghost Stories, Madgaon Express, Kaala, The Mehta Boys, showing his versatility. Avinash is known for choosing intense, layered characters and preparing deeply for his roles.
