Mumbai: Vidya Vihar Shiksha Foundation, a volunteer-driven organisation dedicated to imparting Hindu cultural values to children aged 5-12 years, hosted its third annual gathering, Indradhanush, on Sunday, in Juhu, Mumbai.

Organised on the occasion of Vasant Panchami, the event aimed to instill pride and confidence in Hindu identity among children through educational methods, including storytelling, drama, arts, crafts, inquiry, and discussion.

Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, writer and director, known for his portrayal of Chanakya, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the significance of Dharma and the necessity of inculcating it in young minds.

Swami Vigyananand, founder of the World Hindu Economic Forum and Joint General Secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, was also present at the occasion. He commended the dedicated women volunteers who selflessly contribute their time each week to fostering Hindu values in children.

Speaking on the vision of Vidya Vihar Shiksha Foundation, Dr Nirmala Periwal, a core team member, stated: “In today’s urban landscape, many children miss out on Hindu ‘Sanskars’ due to nuclear family structures and the fast-paced lives of working parents. Vidya Vihar was founded to ensure that the next generation remains connected to its rich cultural and spiritual heritage.”

The Indradhanush gathering ended the event by showcasing the learning experiences of children through cultural performances and interactive sessions.
