Mumbai: A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Thursday provisionally closed the day’s trading flat — lower by 5.11 points or 0.02 percent.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), however, provisionally closed trading in the green — higher by 13.80 points or 0.18 percent — at 7,512.55 points.

The BSE Sensex, which opened at 24,852.18 points, provisionally closed at 24,677.37 points (at 03.41 p.m.) — down 5.11 points or 0.02 percent from the previous day’s close at 24,682.48 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 24,948.30 points and a low of 24,576.52 points during the day’s trade.
